Spring is coming! And with that, skin allergies.
If your dog is itching, licking its paws, or shaking its head, let me know. A lot of dogs need steroids, Apoquel, or Cytopoint to manage their symptoms and avoid an ear infection.

Welcome! I am a mobile veterinarian serving the greater Baltimore area.

My goal is to offer you the best low-cost veterinary care available from the comfort of your home, with no need to go to the animal hospital.

I want to offer a service to you where I treat your animals the same (or, maybe even better!) as I treat mine, my family’s, and my friends’: high quality, reasonably priced, and honestly.

I would love to meet you and your animals and to be your new Catonsville veterinarian!

Highly recommend Dr. Gaines! Booking the appointment online was easy. Received a confirmation for the appointment. On the day of the appointment, Dr. Gaines arrived on time. Very professional and friendly demeanor. He takes his time to listen, explain things, and answer questions. He is very thorough! Less stress for my cat who has a calm and friendly demeanor, but still does not enjoy going for a vet visit. Definitely could tell my cat was more relaxed for the at-home exam. I had made the appointment for my 16 year old cat to get his ears checked. During the exam, Dr. Gaines noticed a lesion on my cat's tooth. My cat has a history of resorptive lesions with many prior dentals/tooth extractions. In the past, my cat would signal by not eating, but this time I had no idea! Also, Dr. Gaines noticed a known heart murmur and asked if it was ever recommended to see a cardiologist. I was told by other vets in the past that it wasn't anything to worry about and it was never suggested to see a cardiologist. I didn't know that was a service that existed! I made an appointment to see another vet for the dental, which includes preliminary blood work. Unfortunately, Dr. Gaines was unable to do blood work himself at this time. I hope Dr. Gaines is able to offer this service in the future. The blood work at the in-person vet did reveal a signal for elevated heart values and they put a hold on the dental until I saw the cardiologist to make sure it was safe for my cat to undergo anesthesia. My cat was diagnosed having early stage hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and is on a blood pressure medication to help manage this condition. Overall, I want to thank Dr. Gaines for being so thorough and making recommendations despite the appointment being for my cat's ears. Otherwise, I would have had no idea about the tooth lesion and may have not caught the heart condition early. Please support Dr. Gaines and the mobile vet service. It would be great to see this service grow to allow for blood work and to go full-time status! THANK YOU Dr. Gaines!

Caring thorough and patient doctor! We had Dr. Gaines check out our cat after some limping trouble (she's good to go now) and he put our mind at ease immediately while also offering the proper meds to solve the problem. We will be using him well into the foreseeable future!

So very pleased with the service we received. Our 4 month old puppy had to have emergency surgery and when we got home I had some concerns and questions about his recovery. He came quickly and was so helpful and reassuring with both my puppy and me. Highly recommend!

My first time using Doc On the Go Dog Mobile vet. My dog Gracie loves Dr. Gaines he is very highly knowledgeable vet and has giving me tips on what to do with Gracie food allergies and I will be looking into this as well as getting Gracie back into me brushing her teeth again. Also, when he weight Gracie on the scale that he Brough with him I got the true reading of Gracie weight vs my previous vet that would not wait the the scale to stop moving. I highly recommend Dr. Gaines to anyone who has a pet. It beats having to sit in your car while your dog is inside a vet office wondering if your dog is really being examine. What I love he comes to you! Thank you Dr. Gaines for accepting Gracie as your new patient.

Dr. Gaines is the best veterinarian that I've met in the past 20 years of being a dog owner! He is extremely patient with our dog and makes sure to answer all of our questions. He provided us with great advice on how to prevent our dog from getting reoccurring ear infections. I can't recommend Dr. Gaines enough!

We have a dog that doesn't do well at veterinary clinics and Dr. Gaines came out to our house to diagnose our dog. Hands down the best experience we've had with a animal vet, and highly recommend if you have a anxious dog. He provided all the information we needed, and very easy to talk to. Highly recommend a house visit from Dr. Gaines if you think your dog needs it.

BEST VET EVER -- PERFECT FOR PUPPIES!!! We took our 3-month old Mini Schnoodle to get her first shots and Dr. Gaines was so polite and caring! He made sure it was a positive first experience for our puppy. He answered every question with informative and genuine advice, which was extremely helpful since we are new dog owners. So if you're trying to figure out where to take your puppy for their first visit, look no further, cause you found the right one! :)
